Off-grid · Stand-alone power
Power where the grid does not reach.
Stand-alone power for properties without a grid connection: solar, batteries and generator backup, supplied and installed as one system. Every job is quoted for the site it is on. Mon to Fri, 7am to 5pm.

Who this page is for
If your property has no grid connection, or a connection is not a realistic option, this is the right page. In regional and remote areas we install off-grid battery systems where a grid connection is not an option.
Where the array goes
Ground-mounted solar
On a rural block the roof is not always the right place for the array. Set on the ground it can face and tilt for the sun rather than for the building.
The distinction
Off-grid is not the same as battery backup
A battery does not automatically power the whole property during an outage. Backup depends on the selected inverter, battery, switching equipment and the circuits included in the design. Your written quote should identify what is backed up, the available power and any operating limits.
An off-grid system is the other case entirely: the property runs on its own generation and storage full-time, with no grid to fall back on. That difference drives the whole design.
Solar · Battery · Grid · Switchboard · Property
Solar runs the property and charges the battery. Surplus can go to the grid.
The battery covers the evening. The grid makes up the difference.
The grid link is down. Only the circuits included in the design stay live.
Solar · Battery · Generator · Switchboard · Property
Solar runs the property and charges the battery.
The battery covers the evening. Generator backup is part of the system.
Nothing changes. There is no grid connection to lose.
Design first
What the design decides
An off-grid design answers questions before it names equipment.
- What the property runs, and when it runs it
- What a run of poor weather should not interrupt
- Where generator backup sits in the design
The answers set the design. The design sets the written quote.
